2. Used books. You don’t have to buy brand new books. You can save a great deal of money by buying the used books. These books contain the exact same information and can be sold back at the end of the semester.
3. Bring a lunch. You are going to need to eat sometime during the day, especially if your classes are back to back. Bring a lunch from home to avoid having to buy your lunch or snack every day.
4. Apply for grants. The Federal government supplies grant money for secondary education. This money can be used to pay for your courses and books and does not have to be repaid. Pell grants are certainly worth looking into.
5. Share a room. You don’t HAVE to have your own room. Try living in the dorms or share an on-campus room. You and your roommate can split the rent and save money that way.
6. Walk or ride the bus. Walking to class is free. Riding the bus is cheap because you don’t have to buy gas or a parking pass. You can often buy a student bus pass for a large discount or sometimes even for free.
